Updeets.com is the result of a user-centered iterative design process conducted in the course ‘Design and Development for Web-Based Products and Services’ at the University of California at Berkeley in the spring of 2014. The aim of the web-based service was to help young people in America with the administrative hassle of moving around a lot.
The concept was originally named Youtility and aimed to automate the process of signing deals with various service providers when changing address. However, during our user research we learned that there was a bigger demand among the target audience for simply changing their address with all their current online service providers. Thus we made a pivot and designed a linear flow which quickly, easily and securely guided its users through the process of changing their address many places at once.
The final prototype along with our pitch ended up winning the class tournament for best project.
